MISSION FOR ELIMINATION OF PEOVERTY IN MUNICIPAL AREAS (MEPMA)

   MEPMA is a nodal agency for implementation of Poverty Alleviation programs under Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Missio(DAY-NULM), a centrally sponsored scheme under Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviations

 Vision

All urban poor families will have improved quality of life by accessing services from all organizations through their own strong self reliant and self managed institutions

Mission

To enable the urban poor particularly the poorest of the poor to eliminate poverty and vulnerability in a sustainable manner and improve their quality of life in urban areas

Achievements

To promote, strengthen and nurture self-sustainable institutions of the poor and through them, address all poverty issues like access to credit,financial freedom, health, disability and vulnerability.

MEPMA ACTIVITIES;

  1. SM&ID-Social Mobilisation and Institution Development:

The main aim is to organize all Urban poor Women in to Self Help Groups (SHGs) and enable them to become self – reliant under social mobilization and institution development.

  1. CBT-Community Based Trainings:

Slum Level Federations (SLFs) and Town Level Federations (TLFs) Office Bearars and SHG Members and CBO Staff were trained .

3.SEP-I&G-Self Employment Programme (Individual & Group):

Self Employment Programme (SEP)-I& G , will focus on financial assistant to individuals / groups of urban poor for setting of gainful self employment ventures / Micro Enterprises and also focus on providing Bank Linkages to Self Help Groups.

4.EST&P-Employment through Skill  Training and Placement:

Employment through Skill Training and Placement (ESTP) aims to provide skills to the unskilled / semiskilled urban youth further providing placements in reputed organizations are facilitating them for become self entrepreneurs.

6.SUSV-Support to Urban Street Vendors:

Support to Urban Street Vendors (SUSV) will focus on identification, issue of ID Cards, Vending Certificates, Financial inclusion, Social Security to Street Vendors. A Fresh survey of Street Vendors has been recently done in the year of May-2020.

Support to Urban Street Vendors Siddipet Municipality as selected for pilot project with setting up of 45 kiosks respectively along with other infrastructure for vending zone to Urban Street Vendors with project Cost of Rs.130.00 Lakhs.

6.SUH-Shelter for Urban Homeless:

Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH) Focuses on construction of Shelters for Urban Homeless in this Siddipet Municipality (2) No. shelters administratively sanctioned and construction completed at Govt. Area Hospital premises and another 1 building located at Manikanta Nagar, Siddipet.
