Fisheries

1. Introduction:-

          Fisheries are one of the fast growing sector generating income and employment. This sector aims at exploitation of all the possible resources under capture and culture Fisheries for increasing fish production and productivity through sustainable development. The sector is contributing for, food security, nutrition and health, lively hood security to rural population, and welfare of fishers. The Siddipet Dist is having 4 No.of Reservoirs with 7949 WSA, 1412 Gramapanchayat Tanks 5550.66 , WSA 244 Departmental Tanks 9955.44  WSA,  278  No.of Societies 20351 No. of Society  members.

Potentialities of the District:-

          In respect of Fisheries point of view, the Siddipet Dist., is enriched with vast potential water bodies like, Reservoirs & good number of Irrigation Tanks, which are suitable for raising fishery wealth and thereby to earn supportive income for the livelihood of fishermen families.

   i.Reservoirs

There are 4 reservoirs in this Dist., where the lease system is being implemented.

1. Shanigaram Project is situated in Koheda Mandal having  281 Ha. 

2. Inapur project situated in Komuravelly Mandal having 119 Ha water spread area,

3. Ranganayaka sager reservoir is located in Chandlapur village having 877.80 Ha water spread area Chinnakodur Mandal

4. Kondapochamma Sager reservoir is located in Markook Village & Mandal having 1908.55 Ha water spread area  and remaining 1 reservoir are under construction they are  Mallanna Sagar.

ii.Tanks:-   

There  (236) Departmental tanks in the Siddipet Dist., which are being leased out to the Fishermen Co-operative Societies and to the Gram Panchayat concerned, where the societies are not registered. Apart from said water sources the good no. of 100 Acers below Ayacut tanks are feasible for raising the fishery wealth.

iii Registration of Co-operative Societies Constituency wise (FCS/FWCS)

        The fishermen are organised into Fishermen Cooperative societies and all the welfare schemes are implemented to the fishermen in Siddipet district. They are 241 fishermen cooperative societies and 38 fisherwomen cooperative societies. The details are as follows

  1. Welfare Schemes under Implementation
  2. Construction of Community Halls.

                   Construction of Community Halls under Normal State Plan scheme with Unit cost of Rs. 10.00 Lakhs with 90% grant and remaining 10% contribution by the MLA / MLC/ MP / Own funds. The main criteria for eligibility is, the society must have minimum membership of (50) active fishermen and sufficient land on its own or allotted by the Government. The details of FCS which ever sanctioned community Hall are as shown below.

  1. Fish Seed stocking particulars in all Reservoirs, deptl tanks and G.P Tanks on 100% grant:

The Fish seed stocking programme commenced from 2021-22 on 100% grant I all water bodies in the district, onwards stocking done in both departmental and 100 Acers below Ayacut  tanks, particulars shown below:

  1. Integrated Fisheries Development Scheme 2017-18:

Under the this scheme the government has released Sanction Orders of 1000.00 Crores for benefit of the members in the  Primary Fishermen co-operative societies (PFCSs) during the year 2017-18  & 2018-19 with (38) components including in the project. The applications are received from online and eligible beneficiaries list uploaded in T-Matsya, 90% of Scheme is grounded and remaining components grounding is going on, details shown below.

D.Construction of Retail Fish Markets:

Under this scheme (2) Retail Fish Markets has been sanctioned during

 2017-18 i..e, 1. at Dubbak (V&M) and 2. Cheriyal (V&M) of Siddipet District.

          Retail Fish Market at Siddipet in Integrated Fish Market has been sanctioned under Integrated Fisheries Development Scheme with amount of Rs. 52.50 Lakhs and construction is completed.

  1. Group Accident Insurance Scheme:

                   Under this scheme all the members enrolled in Fishermen / Women Co-operative Societies and License holders of reservoirs are covered. The state and central Govt. is paying premium amount to the Insurance Company every year on 50:50 share. There will be no contribution from the Fishermen.  

                    In case of death of Fishermen an amount of Rs. 6.00 Lakhs Insurance amount will be released to the legal heirs of deceased.

F.Pradana Manthri Matsya Samapadha Yojana Scheme(PMMSY) FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25:

 The Pradana Manthri Matsya Samapadha Yojana Scheme (PMMSY) to be implemented in all the States and Union Territories for a period of 5 (five) years from FY 2020-21 to FY 2024-25. This Scheme intends to address critical gaps in Fish Production and productivity, quality, technology, post harvest infrastructure and management and strengthening of value addition etc. Guidelines are issued by the Commissioner of Fisheries Telangana State, Hyderabad. The District Level Committee Constituted by the Collector, Siddipet District.
