Functions of Chief Planning Office:

The CPO is the overall in-charge of all items of Statistics and Planning work in the District and acts as the Nodal Officer at District level for collection, compilation and dissemination of data. The CPO is responsible for Co-ordinating with all line departments on all Statistical items of work and special programmes as assigned by the Government. The CPO will also assist the District Collector in Planning, Monitoring and review of all the developmental programmes.

The department collects, compile and disseminate the Statistical data for the following items of work.

  • Rainfall Statistics
  • Agricultural statistics
  • Crop Estimation Surveys 
  • Prices
  • Local Bodies Accounts
  • Industrial Statistics

  • Census of Land Holdings
  • Minor Irrigation Census
  • Economic Census
  • Socio Economic Surveys
  • Any other Census/surveys entrusted from time to time
  1. Rainfall Statistics

 The CPOs are maintaining the daily, weekly and monthly rainfall every year to make use at the time of adverse seasonal conditions. The monitoring of rainfall data at district level is quite useful during floods, cyclones/ heavy rains and assessing of drought situation for preparation of special reports for furnishing to District Collector and to Central teams whenever visiting to the districts. The District Administration can also prepare action plans to mitigate the drought conditions and other calamities by using the rainfall statistics.

  1. Crop Estimation Surveys :

The objective of Crop Estimation Surveys is to obtain the estimates of average yield per hectare (productivity) and total production of principal crops, both at District and State levels by conducting crop cutting experiments. 

  1. 6th Minor Irrigation Census

       The 6th Minor Irrigation Census along with the census of water bodies is being taken up with reference year 2017-18 to get a picture of Minor Irrigation Schemes including number and Irrigation potential Created and utilized. Mandal charge registers prepared and submitted to the Director, Directorate of Economics & Statistics, Hyderabad for conduct of 6th Minor Irrigation Census. The District level Training to all charge officers were planned in the last week of the May 2019.

  1. Annual Survey of Industries (ASI):

The Annual Survey of Industries (ASI) is the principal source of industrial statistics in India. It provides information to assess the changes in the growth and structure of organized manufacturing sector comprising activities related to manufacturing processes, repair services gas and water supply and cold storage..

During the year 2018-19, (44) units are allotted to the Siddipet district, out of which (27) units are working and (17) units are closed. The notices issued to the working units to submit the information.

  1. Socio Economic Surveys (SES)

 NSS 78th Round (1st January, 2020 to 31st December 2020)

The survey has taken up for collection of data on “Domestic Tourism Expenditure” and “Multiple Indicator Survey”. Total (24) samples are allotted to the Siddipet District.

  2. Daily Prices for 6 Essential Commodities collecting from Siddipet Center.
  3. Weekly Prices for 21 Essential commodities collecting from Siddipet Center.
  4. Monthly Agriculture wages and (40) Wholesale Agriculture commodities prices collecting from Siddipet Center.
  5. Consumer Price Index are collecting from (6) Rural Centers and (01) Urban Center.
